The CNR Graduate Research Certificate (GRC) was developed by Dean Nielsen to provide graduate students with skills and knowledge to initiate, conduct, and report research projects successfully when they become scientists or researchers in industry, government, and academia.

The GRC provides a comprehensive introduction into four major areas of the research process;

     •Research Administration & Grant-Getting
     •Personnel Management and Job Placement
     •Research Ethics
     •Communication Skills

Graduate students acquire some of the needed skills and knowledge informally during their studies, the GRC program assures systematic coverage provided by noted experts.

The program will make CNR students leadership-ready as they advance to the research workplace.

All graduate students advised by faculty members holding an appointment in the College of Natural Resources are eligible for the certificate.
